Sunset Chaser

Are you a sunrise or a sunset person? I love both, but am partial to sunsets simply because it is not often that I am an early riser. However, there is no a sunrise I have woken up extra early for that I have regretted. There is this one particular sunrise my friend and I woke up for at 3:30am one summer to make the decently long drive out to the beach in New Hampshire. When we got there, it was foggy and overcast, but it made for a fun adventure and early riser breakfast outing.

I bought a new beach cover up, which is pictured below. The back of the shirt reads sunset chaser. It got me thinking just how beautiful the painted sky is during those hours. In order to see a new sunset or the beauty of a new day through a sunrise, there are stretches of darkness to get through first. The same goes for life. In order to see the light of a new day or a new season, we must navigate through the dark patches that peak out from time to time. This is so that we get the opportunity to see the beauty and new beginning on the other side. If we continue to hide away in the darkness and not open our eyes to the beaming rays of sunshine around us, then we will continue to succumb to an endless cycle of toxicity, negativity, and pain. Hold onto your faith as there is always light at the end of the tunnel or a redirection towards a new path even if you do not see it at first.

You have the utmost light within you that outshines the dark even when you think your light is dimmed. You have the ability to chase your dreams and aspirations even when you feel stuck in a rut. You are the beauty. You are the light. You are the sunset chaser.

My ignited light and spark for life derives from my faith. My calling is to be a continuous shining light for others, and to ideally inspire others to do the same.
