Welcome to the first blog post of 2023! How did you spend your New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day? I was not sure if I was going to make it out of New Hampshire in time for my New Year's Eve plans in Florida due to the streak of continued flight cancellations, but luckily I made it out safe and sound.
I rang in 2023 with my south Florida crew, and we all had a blast! Carol’s brother, Jerome, turned 21 on New Year's Eve, which was great to be able to enhance the celebration. I am fortunate to have such fantastic friends down here! Pictured below is our New Year’s bunch.
Kicking off 2023 was jam packed in the best way. Abby, Carol, and I walked to our local beach and soaked up the 80-degree sun rays and refreshing ocean waves. Carol went snorkeling with her dad and brother afterwards, and Abby and I relaxed by the pool. 324 along with Carol's youngest brother headed over and met up with our friends, Hannah and Mike, and played a handful of pickleball games. We wrapped up our weekend with wood-fired pizza for dinner! Pro tip: drizzle some hot honey on your pizza – it’s a true game changer!
As I look back on 2022, I made incredible memories and celebrated wonderful milestones between myself, family, and friends, while also experiencing some extremely tough and emotional personal times. What I hold near and dear to my heart is that everything happens for a reason, and to trust that everything is for the highest good for all.
The greatest decision I made in 2022 was moving to Florida! I made a video montage of my time so far in the sunshine state, and it warms my heart looking back at all that I have experienced. I cannot thank my family and friends enough for supporting me throughout this journey. This new chapter brings me so much joy! I am looking forward to instilling various disciplined habits in 2023. I purchased a 365-day devotional book and my mom bought me a 365-prayer book for Christmas, so I am going to reflect, journal, and prioritize my faith every single day. Message me if you would like an accountability buddy for any of your goals and resolutions!
Abby and I created vision boards for 2023 where we printed out pictures, words, sayings, etc. and made collages of what we are looking to embody and accomplish this year. We had tons of fun making them, and I highly recommend that you make one too. Put your board in a place you will look at every day, so you can envision your goals, and strive towards achieving them.
Apparel brand, Tribe Kelley, put this wonderful New Year’s reminder on their Instagram page, found here: https://www.instagram.com/p/Cm5Pbr8r2i-/
In their photo slide deck, Tribe Kelley mentioned that 2023 should have:
“More creating
More self care
More sunsets
More empathy
More kindness
More books
More dreaming
More road trips
More sleep
More ambition
More family time
More laughter
More passion
More journaling
More music
More love”
I hope for all of those and more for you. Wishing you such a strong year ahead!
Remember to stay humble and kind, always!
